Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

I was working in a store yesterday and a lady started complaining the lines were too long and she had to wait a few minutes before she was checked out. We all whined about something; the transmission went out on my car then I had a minor car accident with my husband's car.
But when something major happens in your life and you realize how trivial our complaints are.The saying 'Don't sweat the small stuff' comes to mind.
On Sept. 20th we lost our oldest grandson. He was taken from us when he fell in a barn accident.  We are trying to see something positive from this and we are holding on to the fact that after his death our son and daughter-in-law  donated his organs and saved four people.
In memory of Daniel.

Until I Met You

J. T. Reynolds returns from the war a broken man with one goal on his mind, protect his deceased brother's baby. When he meets the baby's guardian, Jessica Reid, he conceals his identity in order to judge if she's a competent caregiver. He finds peace and contentment in her arms and longs to build a loving family with her.

Jessica has been lied to by most of the men in her life and finds it difficult to form a lasting relationship. With sole guardianship of her nephew, she struggles to find a trustworthy babysitter until a handsome man moves into the neighborhood. Learning to trust again, Jessica finds strength and love in Tyler's strong arms. Jessica is devastated when she learns Tyler has deceived her. Is her love resilient enough to forgive him?

Fall Colors

Summer has slipped away and the color of fall is around us. Colorful fall leaves are showing on the trees around us and the air is becoming brisk in the evening.
I watched an old episode of The Walton's tonight. John Boy was struggling to carve out time to write and still keep up his responsibilities to his family. This is a challenge for most writers and all to true for me this summer. Our house is in need of more repairs than we have time to work on and seems to have taken up all our weekends.

A Sleepover

The summer is flying by like usual we're trying to stuff as much as we can into our days before the rainy weather returns. We started a new tradition today of a sleepover with all four grandchildren. They have far more energy than grandpa and I do.

Summer

I apologize for neglecting my blog this last month. Until We Meet Again the second in my Sweetbriar Series has been my main focus lately.

We've enjoyed two of our grandsons in the 4th of July parade and a visit from out of state relatives already this summer. A family picnic is in the planning stage; coordinating schedules and location is a little tricky.

What are your plans for the Summer?
